Milan & Lake Como: Part 1

My first trip to Europe was in August 2002, when I worked in Milan, Italy for 2 weeks. Milan is situated in the northern Lombardy region of Italy, not too far from the Swiss border.

My weekdays were spent at work, and the weeknights dining and partying in town. One of the hangouts me and my colleagues frequented was a bar we called "the Lola". Wonder if its still there...

Most of my colleagues had been living in Milan for months already, and a few of them were kind enough to take us visitors on a small walking tour of the town.

Milan's city layout was very orderly, centering around an old castle, Castello Sforzesco (top left of the satellite map above).
